Maybe you do not necessarily suffer from insomnia but some other sleeping disorder that frustrates the life out of you. Then chances are that you may be scouring the market in desperation to find what product or medication has the ability to help you get your life back. If so, you may have heard of Cannabidiol (popularly known as CBD) and how beneficial it is to human health. However, the question that continues to linger in the minds of people with sleep disorders is whether or not CBD can indeed help them tackle and conquer their sleep disorders or become counter-productive and rather keep them awake.

What risks exist from using CBD oil to treat sleep disorder?
When it comes to using CBD as a means of treating insomnia or any other sleeping disorder for that matter, it is important to know that it has relatively low risks as compared to other forms of treatment. Take sleeping pills for instance, they are highly addictive and there is the risk that you may overdose on the pills. This makes CBD oil a much better alternative for you especially if your issue happens to be a chronic one.

Howo CBD oil works to combat sleeping disorders?
It is important to keep in mind that there are no conclusive reports to suggest emphatically that CBD oil can and will help you sleep if you suffer from insomnia. However preliminary studies seem to suggest that CBD oil is very effective as a natural remedy for sufferers of insomnia. This is because of how well the product tends to interact with the receptors of the body’s endocannabinoid system.

According to Dr, Sarah Brewer, a licensed medical doctor, registered nutritionist and nutritional therapist, “Cannabidiol is a popular treatment for insomnia and promotes refreshing REM sleep to reduced excessive daytime sleepiness.” She adds that “CBD is proven to be particularly helpful for sleep disorders in people with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease.”

“A recent review of preliminary research found that cannabidiol may have therapeutic potential for the treatment of insomnia and may hold promise for REM sleep behavior disorder,” she added.

Usually, people tend to link cannabis with feelings of relaxation and sleepiness which isn’t far from the truth. However, it is important to understand that CBD oil doesn’t necessarily work that way. In fact, CBD oil has the tendency to make you feel more alert than usual.

So the question remains – how does CBD oil work as a treatment to curb sleeping disorders? “It is particularly helpful for people whose sleep problems are due to anxiety,” Dr. Brewer explained. “A recent review of 72 adults with anxiety or poor sleep found that anxiety or poor sleep found that anxiety scores decreased within the first month in 79.2 percent and remained decreased during the study duration. Sleep scores also improved within the first month in 66.7 percent and it was well tolerated.”
